Queensland Country Health Fund Bowen Triathlon

The 2016 Queensland Country Health Fund Bowen Triathlon is to be held on Sunday October 16th on the picture perfect Queens Beach Esplanade.

Participants can choose between:

The Sprint Triathlon (750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run)

The Enticer Triathlon (375m swim, 10km cycle and 2.5km run)

The Enticer ‘Anything Goes’ Triathlon (375m swim, 10km cycle and 2.5km run – using fins/float board/fancy dress)

Or a team of 2 or 3 people in any race!


Registration Fees & Age Eligibility

Individual (14yrs+) $85 $95
Team 2  or 3 Person (13yrs+) $60 pp $60 pp
 Enticer Triathlon & ‘Anything Goes’ Triathlon
Individual (12yrs+) $55 $65
Team 2  or 3 Person (10yrs+) $50 pp $50 pp

The registration fee includes race entry, insurance, breakfast voucher and event merchandise.

Online registrations close at midnight on Thursday 13th October.

New to Triathlons?

Whitsunday Tri Club welcomes all triathlete levels, and we’re more than happy to help newbie’s throughout our races. We’ve put together a step by step guide as to what you will have to do, where and when on race day.  Click here for more detailed information.

Registration Packs/ Race Kit /Check in

Athlete registration packs will be available on Saturday October 15th from 1 – 4pm at the Surf Lifesaving Club on Queens Beach Esplanade.

Photo identification and your valid TQ card is required, and here you will pick up your race kit.

In your race kit you will be issued:

Swim Cap
Timing Chip
Briefing notes
Bike Number (please attach to your seat tube)
Race Number (must be worn on front for run leg)
Helmet Number (place on the front of your helment)
Event Pack (including event merchandise and breakfast voucher)

Under special circumstances, should you be unable to collect your race kit during the above mentioned time on Saturday, please contact us at admin@whitsundaytriclub.com to arrange an alternative pick up time or a nominated person to pick up your kit.

Late Entries

New entries will be accepted at registration on Saturday 15th October subject to availability and a late entry fee; however no new entries will be accepted on race day, Sunday 16th October.

If you live out of town and need accommodation for the Saturday night,  our race partners Bluewater Harbour Motel are running some special prices for the Triathlon Weekend.

Race Day

Race Briefing
You will be required to have read the briefing notes sent to you by email and provided in your race pack prior to starting the race. A verbal briefing will be held at 6.45am Sunday morning, prior to race starting at 7am. This briefing will have all the information and rules required to complete the race, including how many laps are required for each race leg.

Wetsuits will depend on the measurements taken by the TQ Official on race morning. If the temperature of the water is 22 degrees Celsius or above; wetsuits shall NOT be allowed. A notice will be posted on race morning and confirmation given at briefing.

Recovery Area
SIS Go Electrolyte Drink, Bars and fruit will be provided at the finish area.

Food Packs
Your breakfast voucher can be redeemed at the BBQ station.

The Presentations & Random Draws

Presentations will be held at the Life Saving Club at approximately 10am. There are prizes for Overall Male & Female.  The age groups don’t get forgotten either with some great cash prizes up for grabs. Join in supporting the athletes as well as potentially picking up a fantastic lucky draw prize!
